Weaving Relationships
Dante Alighieri Stavanger is glad to invite you to a cultural and networking event at Ledaal Teppeveveri and Ullform showroom, Thursday March 31 at 17:30.
This event ties together the best of Norwegian and Italian textile traditions, and is an opportunity for our members and guests to “weave" relationships” and learn how Norwegian wool and Italian linen can be combined in artistic productions.
Textile Environmental Artist, Elena Redaelli, will introduce us to her textile installations created with Norwegian wool and influenced by nature, traditions, and people she meets. She values and re-uses ancient practices, adapting them to our modern society in a critical way.
Ledaal Teppeveveri and Ullform Economuseum will open the doors exclusively to members of Dante Alighieri Stavanger for a guided tour through their ancient craft techniques and artefacts.
In the basement are the looms which date from the 1880's as well as the unique yarn spinning machines that were developed in the 1950's. Upstairs, in Ullform colourful studio, we will be guided through the development and production of felted interior design solutions as well as garments and clothes.
In this delightful show room we will experience the variety of products that has made these companies a landmark in the Norwegian textile industry.
An aperitif will be served, and coffee, cakes, and snacks will be available for purchase (please cash only).
It will be possible to collect the membership cards.
Please save the date; we look forward to meet you all!
Location: Leedal Teppeveveri and Ullform showroom, Rosenkrantz gate 45 4010 Stavanger
