It is said that Italy was made by Garibaldi and Italians were made by television. But along with television (school, radio etc.) the spread of popular songs, sung by everybody in every place, brought the Italian language in each italian home. Both in dialects and in the official italian language, songs reflect the social, political, and above all linguistic changes that since the sixties and seventies have become little by little "cultural baggage" of the whole nation.
